Effective December 16, 2007, the Fairview Township Water Authority District 3 will adjust the water rates for all customers up 5.7%. The adjusted rate will appear on the billing for the quarter ending March 15, 2008. The quarterly residential customer's water charge, on average, will adjust up from $46.00 to $48.62 or $2.62 per quarter. The annual residential customer's water charge on average will adjust up from $184.00 to $194.48. The actual adjustment to each customer will vary depending on the amount of water used. Upon request, the Water Authority will inform any customer of the estimated effect of the rate adjustment upon their water bill. Copies of the new rate schedule will be available at the Water Authority office at 7485 McCray Road, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This rate adjustment is necessary because of improvements made to the water system, which includes the addition of one new production well. Production wells will increase from 5 to 6 wells. These costs, along with other increasing operating costs, such as electric power costs to operate the well system, cannot be absorbed without the need for placing into effect this rate adjustment to the water bill. The Fairview Township Water Authority strives for a continuous, uninterrupted supply of quality water at a reasonable cost for our customers, which promotes public health and safety while promoting system stability and future growth.
